Walking in the Power- Part 2

We need to know our Jesus and what he has to say about us.  Through His promises which are given to us, we come to know the Blood Covenant, and all that we have been gifted into.

We are asked by God Almighty Himself, to come. 'Put me in remembrance (remind me of your merits); let us plead and argue together.  Set forth your case, that you may be justified (proved right)."  Isaiah 43:26

This one scripture reminds us that we need to know what the Word has to say to us and for us, as well as the Covenant promises due us.  We cannot talk to the Lord about what we do not know.  So how can we walk in the power available to us if we do not first spend time learning?  We are warned in Hosea 4:6

"My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge;  because you (the priestly nation) have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me;  seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children."

We see in this verse just how serious this is to God and how we must take note of this.  We need to repent immediately and put ourselves right with God.  Daily Bible study and devotions are essential in keeping this relationship healthy.

It is most important that we do not neglect or reject the Word of God, it is the very power unto salvation.  In Paul's letter to the Roman church, he was very serious about making this point.  It is a word in season to us.

"For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God's power working unto salvation (for deliverance from eternal death) for everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender, and firm reliance, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."  Romans 1:16

What a powerful word!  God's anointed Word of Christ.  It is power working unto salvation.  This what this study is about..... to walk in the power of the Word.  It is active.  It is sharper than any double edged sword;  penetrating, dividing, getting right to the center of a man or woman.

"For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power (making it active, operative, energizing, and effective);  it is sharper than any two edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of breath of life (soul) and (the immortal) spirit, and of joints and marrow (of the deepest parts of our nature), exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart."  Hebrews 4:12

The Word actually produces power as we take hold of it, and we become obedient to what it says.  We can walk with Jesus twenty-four hours a day if we just take the time and apply ourselves to Him.  This is done through taking the time to pray and get into the Word every morning.  It becomes within us a mighty, powerful force which nothing can stand against.  As we train ourselves to daily (morning by morning) partake of the Word, we become confident and God pendent rather than independent.  We become bold and courageous!  As the Lord said to Joshua (in the first chapter of the book of Joshua):  you will become prosperous, deal wisely and have good success.  This only comes as we spend time in the Word.

I would like each one of us to stop and take note of what is our first focus each and every day.  When we have done this, I think we will need to repent and get our hearts right with God.  When we stop and look at ourselves, we see how things and situations creep in and steal our time from the Almighty God (who is Great and Awesome and greatly to be feared.)  If we have a buisness it will crowd in on
God's time.  If we are studying for a degree, that endeavor takes away from our time with God.  If we go and minister to people in the Name of Jesus, it can even steal out time away from God, and we don't seek Him in His Word.  We don't spend time in prayer.  We neglect time in worship, singing, and praise.  Anything can get in and steal out time with the Master..... Jesus is His name!

We are told by Jesus, himself in Matthew 6:33  "But seek (aim and strive after) first of all His Kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right) and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.  So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of it's own."
God will deliver us from our anxieties if we obey His Word!  Today in this world, things and people are making us so busy that we as Christians must stop, and let it be noticed that we will not be pushed into a box of stress, worry, fear, greed, wringing of hands, and chasing after things which are illusive.  Rather that we walk with our Jesus in confidence, assurance, and calmness.  Understanding and knowing that our power comes from the Word, and by letting the Holy Spirit cleanse us.  Blessings will come to us who walk in the power of the Word of God.

When we understand "the Word of God in us", we speak it out believing, and knowing in our hearts, it will not only deliver us and bring success to us personally, but it will also touch our families.  They will not only hear us praising the Lord, but will aslo see the manifest presence of Him in us, and around us.  Jesus said in John
14:6   "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."  Jesus is the Word!

The written Word is:

1.  INFORMATION about God, His way, and how to get to know Him and fellowship with Him.

2.  OBSERVATION/VISION, the Word produces vision....  God's vision becomes our vision.  It teaches us to observe what he wants us to be like.

3.  APPLICATION, to act on His Word.  As Jesus walks with us, and works in our hearts by confirming His Word with signs and wonders, we learn to act on what He says to us.  Obedience is born.  Remember Mark 16:15-20  "And He said to them, go into the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature (of the whole human race).  He who believes (who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth) and is baptized will be saved (from the penalty of eternal death):  but he who does not believe (who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth), will be condemned."

I pray, that as we study this together, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Glorious Father will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may
know Him better.  I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His Glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe.  That power is like the working of God's mighty strength, which He extended in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in Heavenly realms.  He has all power and all authority, all dominions, and every title that can be given. not only in the present age, but in the one to come.  And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be Head over everything for the church, which is His body.  The fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.  In Jesus name, Amen.
