Richard and Helen Shipp were married in July 1966 and have two grown sons. Toby, our eldest son, went to be with our Lord in May 2008. Prior to ministering the love of Jesus, Richard and Helen worked together in horticulture and landscape gardening for 25 years.
In November 1987 the whole family accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. During the following three years Richard and Helen attended the Bible School in their local Pentecostal church, Richard also being involved in evangelism training, as well as continuing with his full-time job. They also became home cell leaders and fellowship group leaders with that church. For 11 years during this time Richard pastored gypsies and travellers.
From August 1995 to October 2002 Richard pastored Open Door Christian Fellowship in Haddenham, near Ely, where the family have lived for 28 years. He was ordained eight years ago and has nine overseers/advisors who speak into his life and ministry. He is also a trustee to the Healing Love of Christ Ministries and advisor to Maranatha Fellowship and Balham Community Church.
At the end of September 2001 Richard left his secular job and works in full-time ministry for the Lord and is involved in teaching and preaching, not only in England but also in America, India and elsewhere overseas. He has obeyed the call of God to “Go into all the world ….” This is a great step of faith and a totally new lifestyle for them both but they desire that God be glorified in their ministry for Him and with Him. There is much lasting fruit from the ministry and the door has been opened to the market place for businessmen and women.
Richard and Helen’s greatest desire is to see souls saved, healed and set free from bondage. That they would come out of the darkness and into the light of the Lord Jesus Christ and to be taught the Word of God in order to live fruitful Christian lives with signs and wonders following those who believe in Jesus, and that they would know who they are in Christ.
